Really simple rule…we can take the beats of your outline, and if the words “and then…” belong in between those beats? You’re fucked. You got something pretty boring. What should happen in between each beat is the word “therefore” or “but.” […]

I saw Matt Stone at my friend John Pierson’s master class a few years ago.

Surprisingly helpful writing advice from the creators of South Park.  I might have to watch this episode?  But even if I don’t the “no ‘and then’ ” rule makes a fuck of a lot of sense.  Thanks, dudes.
